About Swan Gynecology

Dr. Swan

Dr. Swan is a proud native of Kansas City.  She played soccer at Missouri Science and Technology earning a degree in Biology.  She moved back to Kansas City to attend medical school at the University of Kansas School of Medicine where she met her future husband Matt Swan.  They travel together for residency to Denver.  After completing an Ob/Gyn residency she wanted to solidify her surgical skills so she accepted a position in Orlando as a Minimally Invasive Gynecologist.  Upon completion she spent seven years as faculty at the University of Kansas Ob/Gyn Department.  

Her clinical practice over the last seven years has focused on complex disease processes.  Through her completion of a fellowship in advanced surgical procedures she is able to offer a full range of surgical services.  Since fellowship she has completed over a 1000 surgical cases and hundreds of robotic procedures.  This surgical skill and expertise in clinical management allow Dr. Swan to provide multiple medical, surgical and lifestyle options for these difficult disease processes.  

Dr. Swan has a deep desire to advance the field of Gynecology and Women's Health.   She does this through strong collaborative networks and education.  Education for patients is a key to improved outcomes.  She believes patients are committed to recovery and their understanding of the process and expectations provides the groundwork for success. Additionally, she has a passion to share her knowledge with skilled physicians to improve the care of women.  She anticipates an active role in the Overland Park Medical Center Ob/Gyn residency.
